Ingredients

For the burgers

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder (to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

  • 4–6 large lettuce leaves (iceberg or romaine)
  • 4–6 slices bacon
  • 4–6 slices cheese (slightly mature)
  • 2–3 eggs
  • Cucumber, sliced

Sauce

  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped gherkins
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce (low sugar)
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free ketchup
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Preparation

Making the Burgers

  1. Place the ground beef in a bowl and mix with the egg, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well and form into 4–6 burgers.

Cooking the Burgers

  1. Heat a pan or griddle and cook the burgers for ±4–5 minutes per side.
  2. Place a slice of cheese on each burger in the last minute to melt it nicely.

Cooking the Bacon & Egg

  1. Cook the bacon until crispy in a pan and drain on paper towels.
  2. Then fry the eggs (fried or softened, depending on your preference).

Making the Sauce

  1. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl until creamy.
  2. Taste and adjust as needed.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. Place a lettuce leaf on a plate, then the burger with cheese on top.
  2. Top with bacon, egg, cucumber, and a spoonful of sauce.
  3. Cover with a second lettuce leaf, if desired.
