Recipe for Barbecue Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • A few drops of hot sauce (optional, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In the VH1L.SP sauce pan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper.
  2. If you like a little extra spice, add a few drops of hot sauce of your choice, depending on your preference for spiciness.
  3. Stir all ingredients well until the sugar is completely dissolved and the sauce is evenly mixed.
  4. Place the sauce pan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Once the sauce starts boiling, turn down the heat and let it simmer. Stir frequently to prevent the sauce from burning.
  6. Simmer the sauce for about 10-15 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly and the flavours are well blended.
  7. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool to room temperature before using.
